and how to find one when you're sick and tired of being sick and tired....

A good mentor plays an important role when you feel like your life is out of control and you don’t know where to start to get it back together.
A mentor can also help you reach the next level of success when you're working on a business idea, self-improvement, exercise goals, and more.
It’s up to you to do something about it if you're at either point in life. But it's frustrating when you don't know where to start, especially if you don't know what a good mentor even looks like!
I’ve thrown some huge pity parties in my lifetime and it gets old. It also wears out your friends and family and at some point, it will drive them away.
It takes just an ounce of “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired” to start moving in the opposite direction of chaos.

Did you know the saying "sick and tired of being sick and tired" came from a woman from Mississippi? She said it when talking about injustices during the civil rights movement. You can read more about her here:
A professional therapist is the best resource to help you move out of severe depression, anxiety, and recover from trauma.
But even with their help, we can grow, heal, and move on faster when we spend time learning from other people who have overcome the same issues we're going through..
How to Find a Virtual Mentor
To help you get started, I'll share my list below.
This list of mentors, books, and resources are just a few of the things I’ve collected in my “Get Your Shit Together” Tool Box over the last few decades.
At any given time, one mentor may be perfect for what you’re going through and another mentor may be a complete turn-off during that particular challenging time.
This list of resources isn’t a one-size-fits-all kind of suggestion.
If you try one and it’s not a good fit for you, move on to the next one. At different times in my life, each one of these people, books, recording, etc have been a Godsend to me. Other times, they’re the last person I want to listen to.
It takes time to find the perfect combination of personality, reading vs listening, and the type of problem you’re experiencing. But stick with it if you’re in a place where you don’t know where to turn. It’s worth it.
You can come out the other side of the problem stronger and with resources you can share with someone else who is going through what you survived. Pay it forward. Start now.
SURVIVAL

If you’re going through a miserable phase of your life, it’s almost certain that someone else has survived a similar situation. This should give you hope. You can survive it too, although right now it may not feel like it’s possible.
I’ve survived two divorces, changing careers 3 times, health scares, debilitating depression, moving across the country, betrayal at work, empty nest syndrome, deaths of beloved friends and family members, shockingly high debt and resulting low credit scores, and on and on. You know, the kind of life problems that everyone faces at one time or another.
When it’s happening to you, it doesn’t seem to matter that others have experienced the same problems. I get that. I remember that feeling and know it all too well.
But keep going. You will find the perfect tool for you. You have to start looking. Diligently. Keep trying resources until you find the one that makes you wake up one morning and realize a little something is waking up inside you. Some tiny little feeling inside you says, “keep going”.
RESOURCES FOR YOU - Listed by the role of the mentors
You can pick one of these resources and start your new journey to healing today. I don’t include faith-based resources because if you are a spiritual or religious person, I know that is already in your toolbox. It’s in mine too. But when I hit rock bottom, I supplemented my faith with these modern-day supportive resources:
